The UK has approved a new daily GLP-1 weight-loss tablet called Foundayo® (orforglipron). Unlike Mounjaro® or Wegovy®, there's no injection, just one tablet a day.
It works by targeting the same GLP-1 receptors to help reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness and support weight loss. One of its biggest advantages is convenience, as it can be taken at any time of day, with or without food.
For many people, that's great news. If you've been put off by needles or the idea of weekly injections, this could make GLP-1 medication more accessible than ever. But while the way you take the medication has changed, what you need to do alongside it hasn't.
The medication can help you lose weight but building healthy habits is still what determines whether you keep it off.
But here's what hasn't changed...
The Pill Doesn't Replace Healthy Habits
Whether your GLP-1 comes as a weekly injection or a daily tablet, the challenges are exactly the same.
❌ It won't tell you how much protein to eat.
❌ It won't protect your muscle.
❌ It won't create a workout plan.
❌ It won't teach you how to keep the weight off.
The medication helps reduce your appetite.
Your habits determine what happens next.
Don't Waste The Opportunity
The new tablet is another fantastic option for people looking to lose weight. But changing how you take the medication doesn't change what you need to do alongside it.
Use this time to:
-
Build a high-protein diet.
-
Protect your muscle with strength training.
-
Create habits you can maintain for life.
My Advice
As a coach, I see GLP-1 medication as a tool, not the finish line.
Whether you're taking Mounjaro®, Wegovy® or the new daily tablet, your goal shouldn't just be to lose weight.
Your goal should be to build a healthier lifestyle that still works when the medication eventually stops.
That's exactly what we help our members do at GLP Approach.
